Traditional music of Naxis - [Chinese ethnic group]
The music holds a significant place in the
Naxi culture. A recent spirit for the traditional music made it
possible to make known it in China and in the world. This
cultural heritage was preserved by Naxi since the invasion of
Kubilai Khan at the 13th siècle. When it left the area,
after Naxis had helped it to cross the Yangtze river, Khan left
behind him half of its military orchestra and tens of
partitions of music, whose 22 original compositions crossed the
centuries until today. Four traditional orchestras old men
occur in the old town of Lijiang, and in the area, of the folk
orchestras play of the traditional music to the Naxi
influences. Two compositions, "Baishaxili" and
"dongjing Yingyue", very widespread in the
traditional orchestras Naxis, were transmitted in their
original state as "a Taoïste music of the Han
people" since generations. Some Western experts qualify
these pieces of "typical traditional Chinese musics",
and "symphonies of Chinese style". He Ju, president
of the Association of Chinese Music, grants to them the value
of "alive fossils of the Chinese music".
